The extension .thm (theme/thumbnail) is used in both Windows and Mac operating systems. This common error is found when viewing the thumbnail .jpeg images of your avi files. This is helpful not only in providing thumbnails of images, but assists in cataloging images by date and contains other hidden files that link back to the original and full avi file. The programs most commonly associated in finding .thm file extensions are, as in the first instance a thumbnail bitmap image, Sony-Ericsson Thumbnail file, Sony Ericsson mobile phone theme file, OpenOffice.org configuration file, MS Clipart Gallery database, Serif DrawPlus theme, Video Thumbnail file, Olympus digital image thumbnail, Microsoft Live Messenger file, and Thermwood Macro File.

I really do love FileCure because it's so easy to use - you don't have to be some kind of computer guru to get just what you need!

Plug and play? Not even close. I spent a lot of time trying to get my new, so-called 'plug and play' scanner to work. I was about ready to take it back. ParetoLogic FileCure got it working and saved me a needless trip (and gas!!) back to the store.

I have to admit I'm no computer geek. When something goes wrong, I usually have to call someone to fix it and it costs me a lot of money. When my printer wouldn't work, a friend of mine suggested I try ParetoLogic FileCure a try. I figured it was worth a shot because I was going to have to pay for a geek anyway. I was so happy when it worked... and worked properly!

Hello FileCure folks:
I can't thank you enough for this great product. I just bought a new Vista machine and had been having all kinds of problems. First it was my screen and once I got that fixed it was the printer . Finally, my son suggested I try your product. It worked great and continues to keep my computer working. Thanks you.

I hate paying a lot of money for anything. That's why I buy mostly used computer equipment. Last week I thought I got taken when I bought a scanner. It just would not work. ParetoLogic Driver Cure got it working. With the updates, it makes sure my stuff will keep working and that I don't have to pay more money.

I work at a school so my mom thinks I am some kind of computer whiz. I have wasted so much time trying to get her stuff to work. Our IT guy suggested I try ParetoLogic FileCure. It has been a godsend and has saved me a lot of wasted hours. My mom and I can't thank you enough.

My wife bought me a new Vista system, and ever since I have had problems with some of my hardware. I saw FileCure, and decided to give it a shot. Ever since, the Vista and my hardware have been working great. Thanks!

I upgraded my system to Vista, and my printer started to act funny. No error messages, but it just wasn't working quite right. I read that drivers could sometimes be the problem. I looked online and saw FileCure. After downloading FileCure, my printer works great. You guys rock!

There are four main types of .thm file extensions and I will ouline for you how to open these common types with Windows programs and Mac programs. The first of the four is the thumbnail image file is a standard file format supported by many programs too numberous to list, and can be opened with ACD systems/ ACDSee, Microsoft Picture and Fax Viewer, and other image viewers on Windows OS and using a Mac OS you can open the file using Apple Preview or another imager viewer.

The second type is Thermwood Macro File and is a proprietary file format used by Thermwood software, this can be opened using Thermwood Mastercam in Windows. The third program type is the Sony Ericsson Theme File and is also a proprietary file used by that particular program. This is opened using Theme Creator Pro in Windows OS and in both Mac and Windows OS using Sony Ericsson Themes Creator. For the fourth theme, as a video thumbnail file, it is opened with any picture viewer in both operating systems. The errors that are relevant to this extension format is due to a registry error or not having the appropriate application installed. OpenOffice.org is founded by SunMicrosystems in 2002 and OpenOffice.org has the applications needed to correct errors if direct open and supported open programs do not do the trick. The downloads are free as it is a product of the Open Source Software. OS X for Mac and certain languages are being worked on but may not be available yet. It is highly suggested that if you need updated registry or application fixes or just want a secure site to download this type of extension format from use the OpenOffice.org site.
Other problems happen when users transfer images from the camera to the computer and find the movie they just recorded will not play, or the .thm thumbnail image is no longer linked to the original image and the image will not play or open. Some solutions for this kind of issue are if using Windows OS, go to Windows Explorer and choose Organize, Folder and Search Options, then uncheck the box that says "hide extension for known file types". In Mac OS select Preferences from the "Finder" menu, click on the advanced tab, then check the "show all file extensions" box and you will be able to open the correct downloaded avi or jpeg file from your camera instead of the cataloged image of the .thm image (which also downloads to your computer with the full file). If there happens to be a broken thumbnail image that is not working on a web site you are visiting, then there is not much you can do to fix the problem on your end. You should contact the webmater or site administrator if the problem is unknown to the site. If your problems extend beyond the scope of this article I recommend checking out the web site listed above for Open Office as it is a safe and reliable site for this type of information.
